BC Craft Beer Review – Whistler Lost Lake Unfiltered IPA

Whistler Lost Lake Unfiltered IPAWhistler Brewing Company Lost Lake Unfiltered IPA: Is an unfiltered IPA brewed at a strength of 6.8% with 75 IBU’s and was enjoyed in a beer glass at home from a 22 oz bottle

Aroma and Appearance: It pours a cloudy orange copper with crazy amounts of foam and lots of bubbles. The aroma is spicy herbs, some grapefruit and hints of tropical fruit.

Flavour: The flavour is very herbal, with some earth and lightly toasted bread right up front, some tropical fruit in the middle that is quickly taken over by bitter pine and spicy herbs on the finish.

Overall Impression: Although the bitterness was pretty strong, it was still reasonably balanced and tasty. This makes a good palate trainer for herbal bitter beers, not too much but definitely there.

Rating: I give it a very good rating of 7/10, not enough for me to go buy more immediately but one I would order at a bar or try again in the future.

Food Pairing: Go with some jalapeno jam on goat cheese and herb crackers for a nice pairing.

I am pretty fond of Whistler beer, they do a pretty job on their creations so please check out my other reviews here.
