Brewed in craft central Vancouver, BC comes Parallel 49’s Nitrogen Series ESB (5.0% alc, vertically poured at home from a nitrogenated bottle).
Aroma and Appearance: Pours a dark amber like colour with a decent, but not amazing nitro head of foam with the typical cascade effect and has an aroma of floral hops and malt.
Flavour: Mild floral hops flavour and a bit of bready malt with very little bitterness on the finish. Not much going on here to be honest other than some smoothness from the nitro.
Overall Impression: Overall I didn’t really like have any attachment to this one as the nitro feels more like a gimmick than an enhancement.
Rating: I would rate about 5/10 as in average, I liked their N2 Milk Stout way better than this one. I would drink this over an adjunct loaded beer, but not much else.
Food Pairing: sharp cheddar always pairs nicely with ESB’s.
That’s to bad you didn’t enjoy this one very much. I have not actually sat down and paid attention to this beer for reviewing purposes yet so I am not sure if I agree.
