Beer 2 from Mill St’s Seasonal 6 pack sampler is Mill Street Brewery’s Distillery Ale (5.8% alc, poured at home from a bottle).
Aroma and Appearance: Aroma of caramel and some bits of dark fruit. Pours a copper colour with a small head of foam and very little visible carbonation.
Flavour: Very bready malt flavour with a bit of spice to it and a creamy mouth feel, some toasted caramel and bitterness at the end which leaves a tingle in the back of you mouth.
Overall Impression: I really like this beer for an ale, I disagree with the folks on rate beer who rated the Tankhouse Ale very high and this one very low. This one has offers a bit of an experience as you drink it, not just an average beer but something memorable.
Rating: I would rate about 7/10 for a craft beer as in excellent, I would gladly order on tap in a bar or lounge over other craft offerings.
Food Pairing: This would pair well with spicy food like cajun fries or soft cheeses like Feta and Goat.
