Whistler Brewing’s Valley Trail Chestnut Brown Ale: Brewed in Whistler, BC with 5.0% alcohol level and poured at home from a bottle. This is a fall release and is generally only available for half the year, which is too bad as it would make a great camping beer. This brewery makes all round decent beer, nothing super risky but always enjoyable.
Aroma and Appearance: Pours a dark, reddish brown with a finger of foam and minimal rising bubbles and has a super pleasant aroma of toffee, caramel and sweet nuts.
Flavour: Smooth, creamy with caramel and earthy nuts and rich flavour. As it warms, more nuttiness comes out, basically chestnut heaven.
Overall Impression: This is well priced, tasty and has a unique flavour and I can’t get enough of this one. One of the few locally brewed 6 packs I will always buy more of.
Rating: I would rate about 8/10 for a craft beer as in excellent.
Food Pairing: Would pair nicely with nuts or an earthy cheese.
