BC Craft Beer Review – Firehall Brewery Stoked Ember Ale

Firehall Brewery - Stoked Ember AleFirehall Brewery – Stoked Ember Ale: Is a craft beer brewed in Oliver, BC (aka wineville) at a strength of 4.8% abv and 35 IBU’s. I was happy to see this brand in a store, so I chose this bottle and hoped for the best.

Aroma and Appearance: It pours a dark amber with just a bit of foam and some sporadic little bubbles. The aroma was malty sweet with a bit of caramel.

Flavour: This is a smooth malt forward beer that opens up into some great caramels, a general meaty flavour and very little to hops flavour and a slightly bitter finish.

Overall Impression: I don’t know how to say it but this one really, really works well. They basically blended 7 malts perfectly and made this excellent amber ale.

Rating: I have to give it an 8/10, it had no shortage of flavour and I really want to pick up some more.

Food Pairing: A nice teriyaki glazed steak or chicken would be wondrous with this beer.

I was floored at how good this was, coming from a little place in wine country I wasn’t sure quite what to expect but it delivered!

Added bonus, they put a best before date on the bottle (hand written, so good on them for caring). This kind of stuff really makes me want to support them more, just because they cared enough to actually write on every bottle that I bet they had to single fill manually. I’ll buy more from them, no problem.
