BC Craft Beer Review – Central City Red Racer Maple Bacon Breakfast Ale

Central City Maple Bacon Breakfast AleCentral City Brewing – Red Racer Maple Bacon Breakfast Ale: Is a Jeff O’Niel Show Bacon Ale brewed in Surrey, BC at a strength of 5% and was enjoyed at the Central City brewpub on tap.

Aroma and Appearance: It pours a clear copper with an inch of foam, and has an aroma of smoke, tangerine, meat and bread.

Flavour: The flavour is of salty smoked meat, thick and creamy mouth feel, bacon and a smokey bacon aftertaste.

Overall Impression: The best bacon beer I have had yet (better than Rogue and Uncommon). No real maple flavour, but really the yeast eats all that up anyway so it’s hard to get the flavour in there.

Rating: I give it an excellent rating, 8/10 well because it has bacon in it and tastes really good. Did I mention it tastes like bacon….mmmm bacon….

Food Pairing: More bacon, duh!

This stuff is hard to find and sells out fast, they do have it on tap though at the brew pub, go try some. Did you like it? Let me know what you thought in the comments section.
