Aroma and Appearance: It pours a dark amber with two fingers of tan foam and no visible bubbles. The aroma is quite interesting with tropical fruits, mango, tangerine a bit peachy and some toasted malt.
Flavour: I get toasted bread up front with some grilled tropical fruits, a juicy citrus orange and caramel middle with a dry char-grilled bitter pine finish that lingers.
Overall Impression: This one is great, offers everything you want in a regular IPA with some extra toasty malt that borders on a stout and makes you want more.
Rating: I give it an awesome rating of 9/10, I think they delivered very well on this with some nice complexity and a perfect fusion of styles.
Food Pairing: A nice juicy barbecued steak with peppercorns would work nicely!
I really like the darker IPA’s and this one delivered for me, I have a few others to try soon and I hop they stand up to this great one!
