Craft Beer Review – Dicks Brewing 12 Man Pale Ale

Dicks Brewing 12 Man Pale Ale

Dicks Brewing 12 Man Pale Ale: Dubbed a beer “for the fan” on their website, this Pale is brewed at a strength of 4.5% abv (so more of a session beer) with an undisclosed IBU rating. This was obtained as a part of a build your own 6 pack from Trader Joe’s in Bellingham, who occasionally carries a decent variety of beer and allows you to build a 6 pack with anything on the shelves.

Aroma and Appearance: This craft beer pours with one finger of foam that disappears very quickly (as seen in the photo which was taken not a minute later) with large small bubbles and a clear gold colour. The aroma was honey sweet, some bread, fresh grains and a bit of caramel.

Flavour: Same as the aroma, caramel, muted honey oat bread, a bit watery and somewhat refreshing that finishes with a basic light bitterness.

Overall Impression: Meh! A beer for the masses but not those that value flavour.

Rating: Average at 5/10, doesn’t make any sort of impression worth writing about.

Food Pairing: Anything really, perhaps an over priced stadium hot dog would work best. Nothing quite like an over priced stadium hot dog and a mediocre over priced stadium beer right?
