Craft Beer Review – Pyramid Strawberry Saison

Pyramid Strawberry Saison

Pyramid – Strawberry Saison: Is a fruit saison brewed on the West Coast, in either Washington or Oregon, at a strength of 5.8% and was enjoyed in a snifter glass at home while the sun went down.

Aroma and Appearance: It pours cloudy rose colour, with a massive foam monster head and some small bubble action underneath. The aroma is pepper, strawberries and some grassy malt.

Flavour: This fruit beer is strawberry forward, sweet with some clove, grassy malt, and a super creamy mouth that is light and finishes with some peppered strawberry jam.

Overall Impression: Fruit beers are very hit and miss for me, this was a total hit (strawberry saison, who knew right?).

Rating: I give it an excellent rating of 8/10, bonus my wife liked it as well so it would make for a nice sharer, the strawberries really worked off the spiciness of the saison wonderfully.

Food Pairing: Goat cheese, goat cheese, goat cheese.

I went totally against the internet on this one and thought it was great and would gladly buy more. What’s your favourite summer fruit beer, please share in the comments section.
